Two Conversations

On Friday I said to Fefe "Do you need a diaper change?" and she said, "No. No thanks, Mommy." I wish I had a recording of her saying that in her cute little voice. (she did need a diaper change by the way)

In the car yesterday we were having a conversation about the time Ephant cut off all of Glen's whiskers. Brother B said "What if you tried to pull them out instead and he bit your hand off. Then he ran to his brother (Rush) and said, "Let's Feast!"" Okay Josh. This further devolved into a conversation about everyone eating Ephant.

Sun + Fefe

I really like the dynamics of how the sun and shadows ran across Fefe so I snapped a few shots. It's pretty rare that I get inspired by this type of artistry. I had noticed it for awhile because this is always where I lay her to change her diaper, but I always figured she would move before I could take her picture.

Now I just need to remember to have my camera in the car next time the town flag looks awesome.

More Wildlife

No wonder we found that dead possum in the yard. The cat must of gotten tired of it eating his food. If it wasn't for that ugly as sin tail I might have mistaken it for a cat.

I Want to Cry

For the stupidity of the people that live in this state. Here we are with one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation and yet they still voted in tax increases. Is it so hard to understand basic economics? Why does a government worker have more of a right to keep his job than someone in the private sector? Learn to live within your means and the bounds of your income, just like the rest of us.

At least I have this to laugh at.

Wouldn't You Know

My nephew broke his collarbone yesterday so I had to help pick up the prescription for the lovely pain meds. On the way back from their house I got pulled over. I couldn't think of anything I had done wrong (hadn't even been speeding). Turns out my plates were expired. I was pretty perplexed because that's not like me to let something like that go. It wasn't till I got home that I figured out what had happened. When we received the paperwork to renew J's car I thought the second one we got a couple weeks later was a duplicate so I tossed it. Our initial registration had lasted 4 years so I wasn't in the mode of renewing it. Oh well, as long as I get it fixed before my court date it won't go on my record.

Here's the funny part though. After the police woman handed me back my papers she said "May I ask where you got the black eye?" I simply said, "my two year old". What are the chances I get pulled over the one time in my life I have a black eye.

Twins

Knee Update

I've been going to physical therapy for close to 2 months now. My knee has improved, although I don't how much longer till it's 100%. The new orthotics I got seem to help more than anything. I can't tell how much the PT is helping with the improvement or if it is just time. After getting the new orthotics I started wondering if my old and very terrible orthotics were the cause of all this in the first place. Who knows, there are really so many pieces to the puzzle. I have two more weeks of PT and then I'm supposed to see the Orthopedic doc again. The PT does think I might have a labral tear in my right hip. If the doc thinks it's a possibility I'll need to get an MRI for my hip. I doubt I'll get the knee surgery since I've been improving. I am so tired of going to PT though.

One of the therapies they used was something called the Graston technique. It combs the muscle fibers to realign them and stretch them out. One time it gave me all these bruises. I bruise easily though so they weren't surprised. It did look lovely. The funny thing is that I didn't realize I had all the bruising till J noticed it. I was about to get in the shower and he said "What the heck happened to you!". I had noticed it was more sore than usual, but hadn't bothered to look.

The PT didn't give me the shiner, Princess Fefe did.

Natural Born Princess

Fefe has really been coming into her own the last month or so. She's obsessed with "cute" clothes, has to wear dresses and skirts and prances around whenever she is happy. She is all girl. I can't say I encouraged it. Ephant didn't care much for princesses till she started playing with her best friend in preschool. It just comes naturally to Fefe.

Hats are a favorite right now too.

Mmmm, Doughnuts!

I know, the hairstyle is a little silly.

We finally pulled out the stuffed animals to see if she'd be happier.

Short, but Sweet

I was hoping for another massive snowstorm like last year, but, what we got on the 29th was pretty good. I was heading to the theater to buy our Avatar tickets when it started snowing. It was a big shock because it was not at all predicted. Everyone started slowing down to a crawl right away. It was pretty ridiculous. It did build up to a point where we did need to drive slowly, but that took a couple hours. It took me twice as long to get back from Tualatin because of the scaredy-cats. By the time I got home the snow was up to 6 inches (in just 3 hours). While I was out, the boys had fun building a snowman in the back yard and Ephant built a fort for a snowball fight with her friends.

I was worried it wouldn't last so we went sledding right away that night. It did start melting the next day and was completely gone in a few days. It was nice while it lasted.

Nothing to See Here Folks

I took one picture on Christmas. This pretty much encapsulates it all.

Fefe couldn't have been more excited to open presents. Each one was accompanied by high pitched squealing and excitement. If I get up the energy I might put up some video of it later. It didn't take long for the kiddos to open all their presents. It was definitely a remote control car Christmas. Loofa has been dying to have his own huge one forever, but he was surprisingly sedate about receiving it. I was excited to give J a napping quilt that I had made for him. I'd been working on it in front of him for a while, but he didn't know it was for him. Most of Fefe's presents were related to some Nick Jr show or other. Brother B got a skateboard and J is pretty jealous of how nice it is. Ephant wanted an Ipod so she got my old one since I have my Iphone now.

We attempted to see Avatar at the IMAX Christmas night, but it was sold out through the weekend. We were finally able to see it a week later and it was so worth it. James Cameron has redeemed himself after Titanic. It boggles my mind that movie made so much money.

Glen really liked the water I would pour for the tree every day. Maybe I should add some pine fresh scent to his water.

Birthdays Only Come Once a Year

Loofa had a fabulous birthday 3 days before Christmas. It is hard to believe he is finally 5. He couldn't have been more excited for his birthday. For about 4 months he had been asking how much longer till his birthday. His big present was a spark scooter. It only took a few days for him to wear out the sparks. The weather has been terrible so he hasn't had much time to use it, but I guarantee it will get plenty of use this summer.

Loofa picked out Monkey Bread for his treat because he wanted to make Brother B happy. What a sweet boy.

Here come the germs!

Christmas Star

Loofa had his first performance for preschool right before Christmas. It is always fun to see how your children will do in front of a big crowd. The poor kid's eczema was acting up so he spent half the time scratching his sides. He actually sang half the time though, progress from Brother B.

Will It Never End?

My fingers are crossed that my computer will stay fixed for awhile now. I was finally able to put it all together again last night. While I was waiting for my motherboard to come back I dropped my cpu on the desk. It looked fine, but apparently looks were deceiving. I ended up ordering a new cpu and motherboard after I got my old motherboard back. I don't know how much longer I could have handled life without my desktop :)

So without further delay, it is time to catch up!
